Week at a Glance Landscape View- Free Printable!

I have been a planner for many years, but recently discovered the art of mixing planning with scrap-booking and journaling.   It might sound a little odd, but I have found it to be so much fun!

Here is a sneak peek into my personal planner - I use 8.5" x 5.5" paper, which seems to give me the versatility that I want (I can create my own plain pages and decorate them to my hearts desire).
I will post the link to this printable in a future post!

You can see in the image that I no longer use the vertical week at a glance pages, I found that the layout I am using now works a bit better for me - watch upcoming posts for links to those page layouts.

For now, I am happy to share with you the layouts that I started out with, both are designed to print out on standard 8.5" x 11" paper, flip the paper over, print on the back side, cut in half and hole punch.  If you are a little creative I am sure you can adjust these to print on other sizes.  These are free for you to use for your personal use only!  Hope you enjoy!
Note:  The background on this is White (I seem to have my images doing some
funky formatting). Here is the link to the .pdf version:

The background on the image is White (not Grey as shown).  This vertical layout
is designedso that you can add family member names or business names if
you arerunning multiple businesses/blogs or whatever.  With this layout you can
see at a glancewhat specific tasks you have per day per family member
or business. Here is the link to the .pdf:

Planner Pages - Project Tracking!

I have recently discovered the wonderful world of planning (good old fashioned paper planner) and the art of doing your planning in style (a mix of planning, journaling and scrapbooking).  I love to design (I am a design novice, so please bear with me as my skills grow) and I love to organize, so I tend to create most of my own planning pages.  I am giving you my latest as a FREE Printable (personal use only please).  I needed a way to track projects (both big and small) that contain multiple parts with multiple pieces - this is what I came up with.  These are designed to print on 8.5"  x 11" paper - if you want a 1/2 size version, most printers will allow you to choose to print 2 pages on one page, which will reduce your pages down to a 5.5" x 8.5" size.

Sunday Reflections and Our Way of Glamping...

I am having so much fun creating our new Sparkle Frogs endeavor and all of our social media sites (see us on Facebook, Pinterest & Twitter), so much so that the creative side of actually finding the time to make any projects has fallen short, but I have decided not to stress about that.  I am pretty proud of how the blog has turned out.  I took the Simple Template and made so many modifications that I can't even tell you how I did them all - I just know that I spent hours as I am too cheap frugal to have someone else do it.  Not to mention that I have a bit of a "control" problem, LOL!
This image has nothing to do with today's topic - it just makes me smile and gives me inspiration for my own garden!

So far I have gotten some positive feedback on our Facebook Page, but would love to hear your thoughts on the blog design.....when I am creating a new blog I always try to put myself in my reader's shoes and create a blog that I would like to read. I believe that it is important for blogs to always have the following features:

  1. Pleasing, easy to follow layout with great colors and graphics.
  2. Easy to find page links with a minimum of at least a Home Page and an About Page.
  3. Easy to find Categories.
  4. Easy to find Social Media buttons.
  5. List of Favorite Blogs (it helps the readers find similar blogs).
  6. New posts at least once a week (I still struggle with this one).
I have mixed feelings about the blogs where the Home Page has all of the it's blog posts shortened with a "continue reading" link.  I don't mind the home page having this, but it drives me nuts when all of the category posts/pages are the same with the read more type of links.   I like to read the blog posts and not have to continuously click the "Read More" links.  What is important to you when reading a blog, what do you like and/or dislike?

I am spending my Sunday morning enjoying my coffee and playing around on the computer while I wait for the rest of the house to wake up.  This afternoon is going to be spent getting ready for our week long camping trip.  When we go camping, we do a cross between Glamping and Camping, something I like to call "Redneck Glamping".

We do our camping in a 10' x 16' foot tent and while it is not "glamorous" per say, it is a little over the top in a Redneck sort of way......be sure to check back, as I will be taking lots of photos while on this trip.  I think I am bringing a little bit of everything, except maybe the kitchen sink (unfortunately it is not portable, I have tried).

Do you camp?  What is your favorite way to go?  Glamping, tenting, RV or Holiday Inn - inquiring minds want to know....

Until next time!

Hanging Flowers with Mason Jars

This past Saturday, my family and myself went to my Nephew's outdoor wedding.  The venue was a family farm home and was decorated with both rustic charm and modern touches.  The wedding colors were primarily Black and varying shades of Pink.

I love what they managed to do with canning jars.....

If that wasn't enough just take a look at the scenery that we had while waiting for the ceremony to start...
Thank you Jordan and Melissa for allowing us to share your special day with you!

Wedding Bound....

The whole family is wedding bound today!  My husband's nephew is getting married in an outdoor ceremony and after more than 30 days of sunshine today is the day the weather decides to change....hoping that Mr. Sunshine overthrows the rain and makes an appearance!  Either way I am going prepared - I revised my wedding attire from a dress to slacks!

I hope you are all having a sparkling day today!  Be sure to check out our Facebook Page if you get a chance - I love sharing wonderful creations that I find on other pages!  I am also busy building our Pinterest - check it out too if you get a chance!

Not Quite Normal.....

I seem to always do thinks in reverse order of what is the "norm"......but I am of the firm belief that if something works then don't try to fix it!  In our case I created both this blog and our Facebook page well ahead of actually sitting down and working on any crafts.  But just like any good "crafter" we have projects ready to go - it is just a matter of finding the time to start working on them.

Typing has become painful lately - not because of any limitations on my part, but because I have lost my "d" on my keyboard....do you know how many times you need to use the letter "d" when typing?  I do!  It works once in a while so I have resorted to copying and pasting!  I have a new "d" ordered and it should be here within a week, yeah!  I expect to be posting more often once I have it installed.  I plan on writing a post on how to replace a key (once I figure out how to do it).
